4:12 Youth
Leader: Joel Singleton
When you would be required:
- Wednesday Bible Study 6:30pm – 8:00pm (On a rota basis)
- 412 Feast on the last Friday of each month 6:30pm – 8:30pm (With exceptions for any you can’t make)
- Sunday 10:30 – finish (when placed on rota)
What this area involves:
- Supporting the session leader to deliver the prepared content
- Contributing to discussions with insight and thoughts overflowing from your own personal relationship with God and His word.
- Leading games or discussion segments as guided and agreed with the session leader
- Encouraging young people to join in with discussions and helping them keep focused when distracted or disengaged.
- Preparing drinks and snacks for the session
- Building connection with the young people with a heart to develop our Church family
- Connecting with churched/un-churched youth at the 412 Feast and helping build a sense of family between them and us
Other:
- The youth team should be role models of what following Jesus looks like in the life of normal, fallible people. You do not need to be perfect, but humble and honest in your pursuit of Jesus so as to look more like him today than you did yesterday.
- Discipleship is at the heart of what we do, so if you feel you would like to/can offer the space to meet 1-1 with a young person, then that can be explored (we will look at our safeguarding policy etc….)
- You will need a DBS certificate prior to joining the team (we will arrange that as a Church)
Requirements:
- A love for God and regular rhythms of engagement with His word in your personal time
- A love for young people and a passion to see them grow in their walk with God
- Willingness to have fun and not take yourself too seriously
- Confidence to pray out loud within a group setting and to confidently pray for others (not essential, as there will be opportunity to be developed in this area)
