Worship
Leader: Simon Lodge
When you would be required:
- Monday 7.15 - 8.45pm (on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month)
- Sunday 10am – Finish (When placed on rota)
What this area involves:
- Being a key part of the sung worship life of the Church. Using your gifts and musical talent to help the Church engage in worship.
- Contributing helpful insight and wisdom into current songs, new songs and song arrangements.
- A willingness to practice and hone your gift at home.
- Joining in where possible with bigger band moments such as Easter and Christmas.
Other:
- It’s important that our times of worship on Sunday overflow from a personal relationship with God and don’t become an opportunity to simply play as part of a band or enjoy a hobby. These are good things, but our gifts are used to first glorify God, and second bless those around us.
- It’s also important to evaluate your time commitments and where else you may be serving. Committing to the dates you’re on team is important. It’s good not to spread yourself too thin.
- There’s nothing wrong with coming to a practice and testing if it’s right for you. You’re more than welcome.
Requirements:
Competency: Singers
- The ability to confidently hold the melody in a way as to not be distracting to those joining in.
- The ability to confidently hold the melody when others are singing harmony.
Competency: Musicians
- The ability to hold rhythm, timing, and play in the correct key of a song.
- To be able to play the chords/notes in each key.
- To have a general sensitivity and awareness to the makeup of a song during worship.
