Sunday Services

Our services are simple, heartfelt and uplifting.  They are a way for us to worship God together, search the scriptures, and pray. Below are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about our Sunday Services so you can plan your visit and be reassured about what to expect.

How long is a Sunday service?
Our services are approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

When does the service start?
We start at 11am.

What happens at a Sunday service?

First of all, we want you to come as you are!  You don't need to dress up unless that is what you would like to do!

The service itself is pretty informal and down to earth.  We love God deeply but we don't take ourselves too seriously!

Our services begin with a welcome.  We sing songs of worship together focusing our hearts and attention on God.  The music is contemporary and simple.  We open the scriptures and read them.  We listen to a talk based on the scriptures.  We believe the wisdom of God relates to our lives, engages our hearts and helps us make sense of things.

We usually invite people to respond, sometimes there will space for singing and sometimes we offer people an invitation to be prayed with.

Afterwards there are refreshments and we'd love you to stick around for a brew and a chance to connect.

What about my child?

We have a children's programme called Adventurers.  After the second song, the children and young people will head out to their different groups.  Each group is small enough for a child to be known and cared for.  If you are new, you will need to accompany your child to Adventurers so we can register them and ensure their safety.  All parents need to collect their children from Adventurers after the service.

The session will include learning more about the Christian faith, playing some games and having a small snack.

What about my young person?

We have a youth programme called 4:12.
We cover all kinds of relevant topics drawing on the scriptures for wisdom and insight.  It is a relaxed, informal and engaging environment.

[On the first Sunday of every month our young people stay in the service for 'Serving Sunday'.  This is where our young people serve across the Sunday Service.  Some will be on welcome, run the tech, be in the worship team, host the service. We do this because we want our young people to experience the joy of using their gifts to serve others.  Often the young people will go on a trip to McDonalds afterwards]

What if I am not a Christian?

We would love to have you join us!   That is why we plan our services with you in mind.  It can be quite a scary thing to go into a room full of people you don't know who are passionate about something you don't fully understand.

That's why we will do our best to guide you through the service by explaining what is going on.  We use normal language and if you don't know the songs there are words on a screen and you can just listen and take it all in.

What should I expect when I arrive?

When you arrive you will be welcomed by someone on the door.  If you are unsure of where to go or what to do you can ask them and they will help you

Before the service there is a buzz of conversations as people connect with each other.  We are quite diverse as a church, we have people from all ages and stages, different social classes and ethnicities.  Also, don't assume that everyone in the room is a Christian.  There is almost always a mix of Christians and non-Christians as we love to see people explore the Christian faith and discover the wonder of Jesus for themselves.

Will we ask you for money or take an offering?

We will not ask you for any money or take an offering on a Sunday morning.  Every now and again we update the church family on our finances.  Members of our church family do give financially as an act of worship.  If you would like to do that you can find out more in the giving section of this website.
